Adam gives a fascinating insight in how to carry on caring and the role of comms during a pandemic. 90% of Lifeways 11,000 staff are directly involved in caring for those with a wide range of learning disabilities, and so Adam and his comms team had to rapidly step up to communicate how to keep their people safe, motivated and in touch when problems arose. Switching to remote working, harnessing technology and breaking down hierarchies were all part of the response that has helped the organisation to not only survive but thrive over the last year, despite very challenging circumstances. Some great insight and lessons shared here.
Adam spent four years as Operations Director at Lifeways Group before becoming Director of External Relations. He has a wealth of experience in support service organisations, having previously been Regional Director at United Response and Director of Learning Disability Services at Turning Point.
Adam leads the Tendering and Sustainable Funding teams, and works with all our key stakeholders, both local and national, ensuring that we communicate effectively about what Lifeways can offer to the people we support, to the commissioners of our services, and to policy makers.
